Selecting
a Vehicle |
 |
|
|
|
The CodeReader is NOT model specific. To select a vehicle for test
you simply use the "touch screen" interface to select
the make of the vehicle. The screen will then give you the "most
common" diagnostic connector for your selected year range.
You DO NOT need to select a specific model of vehicle. The CodeReader
will now give you the connector location and explain how to put
the vehicle into diagnostic mode.
The CodeReader works off the make, year and diagnostic connector
fitted to the vehicle to determine how to decode the codes.

Retreiving Codes |
 |
|
|
| Using
the handheld CodeReader is as simple as entering the relevant vehicle
data and following the on-screen instructions to locate the cars
diagnostic connector, putting the vehicle into diagnostic mode,
and how to connect the CodeReader or manually read the code.
The Rennacs CodeReader software then does all the work of decoding
the fault / trouble code and displaying the code number and description
on the Handheld screen. For example: Code 12 Airflow meter.
