The Rennacs Scanner allows you to scan the EFI, Transmission, ABS Brakes and SRS Airbags (coverage dependant) systems if the car has them.

The Scanner uses a powerful piece of universal hardware designed by Rennacs called the UniPlug. The UniPlug allows the system to communicate with any car that has the 16 pin ODB plug with NO additional hardware! This means no expensive CAN units, or Gateways to buy.

For cars that don't have the 16 pin adaptor, provided with the standard kit are adaptors for BMW, Mercedes, Volkswagen / Audi and Mazda. Additional adaptors are available for other pre 2000 cars and can be found on our Products page.

In the Scanner software you'll see a button labeled "Scan All Systems". This feature allows you to scan EFI, Transmission, ABS, SRS (and Body Control on Ford and Holden) with the click of one button. You make your connection to the car, select the make and year and ~5 minutes later you have a report on the cars health. It's so easy anyone can do it! For some garages this has become a routine operation when a car is serviced.

Every time you test a car the Rennacs Software logs the test results. When you run the software on the internet all your test results are automatically sent to Rennacs. The software engineers review all tests and if they see something that is unusual they can contact you.

You get the ability to print and save results. This is a great way to justify machine charges and build trust and credibility with your customers. The Rennacs software has a built in feature to generate invoices from test results, saving you time and providing transparency to your customers.

You will never have to worry about going through complicated internet downloads yourself as with other tools, and you'll never have to send your tool away to be updated with new software. The Rennacs Scanner Software automatically updates every time you use it if your computer is connected to the internet. It is a silent process, so you don't have to do anything. You get new software as soon as it's available, not once a year.

The manual code reading kit included with the Rennacs Scanner is a unique feature among scan tools. It comprises a set of hardware and instructions, built into the Rennacs software, to greatly simplify the manual reading of flash codes on older cars. This can be very useful for cars that don't provide a diagnostics connector, or when the connection is faulty. For example diagnostic information on SRS is not available from the connector for Subarus until 2005!
